This Cat is Horseshit

Warning for General Stupid Edgelord Humor from the year 2009 in the story. Also one of the randomized pictures of Black sitcom stars in the living room is Bill Cosby. You can reload to roll for a different one.

A winner of the 2009 Something Awful Game Dev Competition IV with the theme "Deals With the Devil". I had a newer version with proper screen scroll at some point but I lost it probably. This one is full screen with no windowed mode.

You are Tazwell Jenkins, all around cool dude.  Unfortunately you believed in the wrong religion and were sent to hell as punishment.  In order to make you stay a little bit easier, you agree to babysit the devil's pet cat.  Little did you realize what you were getting into...

INSTRUCTIONS

You can press ESC at any time to return to the main menu.

On the Main Menu:

Click NEW GAME to begin play.

Click STORY to view the sad tale of Tazwell Jenkins.

Click HOW TO PLAY for general play instructions.

Click EXIT to close the program.

GAMEPLAY

You have to keep the devil's cat alive while still keeping his house in order.  The top of the

screen is the main gameplay window where all the action happens.  On the bottom of the screen is

a menu of tools and options to choose from.

TOOLS

Left-click a tool to select it on the menu.  You can also right-click during gameplay to cycle

through them.  An exclamation point will appear above your cursor if your current tool can

interact with an item or character.

Your tools include:

A POOPER SCOOPER to clean up the cat's waste.  Click on a pile of shit to remove it.

A NEEDLE to administer drugs.  Keep the cat's health meter up by sticking it with the needle.

FRESH FISH so you can feed the cat.  Click on the bowl when the cat gets hungry to fill it up.

A SUPER WRENCH.  When the cat breaks things in the home, click on them with the wrench to fix them.

A GUN.  If a demon comes into the house use the gun to shoot it.  Be careful not to hit the cat.

A FIRE EXTIGUISHER.  The cat ocasionally catches fire.  Click to spray it with a blast of foam.

ROOM SELECTION

While in game, you can choose to go to a specific room of the house by clicking it's corresponding

number on the in game menu.  If you want to always follow the cat, click on the cat icon.  You can

also press keys 1-4 on your keyboard to choose a room and press 5 to follow the cat.

BONUS

On a TRICKY difficulty game, press F1 to activate debug mode.  Press F2 to disable it.
